An Adult Day Care center is a non-residential facility that specializes in providing activities for the elderly. Some specialize in Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Participation in daycare can be an alternative to moving to an Assisted Living or Memory Care community if the participant can remain at home with family members longer due to the added support. Social stimulation and recreational activities often help improve, maintain, or delay the decline of physical and cognitive functions. Adult Day Care Centers offer caregivers respite, enabling them to work or take a break from their caregiving responsibilities for a few hours or an entire day.
